Emotional sideswipe, compliments of family. And a small victory

Apologies for my departure and obscurity.  The past few weeks have been nothing short of an emotional roller coaster, with a few wheels missing.  One of the primary issues revolves around siblings.  As It says in the blog description, family issues are interesting.  My brother passed away in early August. He passed, the day I arrived at my mothers after being rescued from Mr. Personality.  We learned of his passing the next morning when one of my sisters stopped to chat with  me.  My brother had been ill for many years, and he went on his terms in the end. As only he would want things.  He and I, have had many discussions over the years of death, what happens, what we think happens, passing from this world was something we both knew would come eventually.    It wasn't a fascination with the macabre, it was more along the lines of a desire to understand things on a spiritual level.   Anyhow, so my brother Randy passed on, and I hope he was able to finally attain all the answers to

Virgil, a doctor and a special delivery.

Wow, what a week it has been.   The weather has been a roller coaster of chilly, rainy and flat out cold.   But we are keeping warm and comfy with the handy space heater.  (No further fan mode goof ups) The first small adventure, was with Virgil.   While Sugar is content to stay within the realm of her kingdom, not bothering with the dirt of outside.  Virgil is not so contented, and has made it a personal goal to get outside.     I'm fairly quick to spot him, so after many thwarted attempts, he incorporated Gordi into his plan.  It was simple actually.  Gordi only needed to delay her coming in the door behind Brikita.  Delay, leads to begging by me, while Virgil made his mad dash to freedom.    Now Virgil has escaped before, from our apartment.  He never went far, and was easily coaxed back inside by a shake of the treat bag, or maybe an actual corner and pick up by a shrub.   But there aren't any shrubs here, only the fence line, and pasture that contains animals much larg

It only takes one time, and a bit of history

Living in a caravan, it only takes one time to learn a lesson. There is little room for error, and less room for the same error to be repeated.   Case in point. Heat.  The vent free propane heater my Dad purchased for the caravan, has not been installed yet. More concern has been placed on securing a leak free environment, and it hasn't been cold enough yet to worry about it.   I have a space heater, which works very well for us, as at night we all sleep on the same bed.  (I've read many other blogs and forums, that suggest a canine companion to help keep warm, I just took it a step further)  So, two nights ago, I had the little space heater going, and figured, we are sleeping, no reason for it to be 80 degrees in here. So I turned the dial down, in the dark, according to memory. One turn of the dial, 65 degrees.   5am was a frigid awakening, seriously cold. Gordita (the Chihuahua mix) and Sugar the cat, were both snuggled up under the blankets, and Brikita (German Shepard

Why this blog?

The reasons for this blog are many.  Some will not be voiced, until further along in the adventure.   For the most part, the title says it all.  Caravan Living, as I now live in a 19' caravan, (as I call it) Which will eventually be rebuilt into a tiny home for myself, and my trusty pets.   The Medical Madness, is the interesting part. In the past 2+ years, I have watched and felt my body decline and deteriorate into a shell of a human being.  At this time, I've heard several doctors tell me it's a neurological condition. Peripheral Neuropathy, is a possibility, but which one of the over 100 types?  Can I have more then one?  And then, let us consider the Autonomic Nervous System.  That is the part of these wonderful machines we call our bodies, that runs a program all on its own, we don't even have to think about it because it runs on a "SOP"  standard operating procedure.  Blood pressure, heart rate, bladder control, and appetite to name a fe
